Students will learn techniques from these masters of cartooning and illustration. By studying these master cartoonist and illustrators of the past, the student will develop a strong foundation of skills to create their own original illustrations.

Manga / Anime

In this class, students will learn step by step technique on how to create manga art. The technique is broken down into 4 steps.

1. Idea and rough sketch
2. Refined pencil drawing
3. Inking
4. Coloring

Students will study the different styles from various manga characters from (Pokemon, Sailormoon, Inuyasha, Naruto, Dragonball Z). They will take this knowledge and create their own manga.

Foundation Drawing

Curriculum:

- Pencil (Graphite, Charcoal)
- Pen & Ink
- Pastel

Construction with Basic Shapes (Sphere, Cone, Cylinder, Cube)
Measuring Systems
How to create form (shading, make something 3d)
Value Scale
Perspective

Learning how to draw is the most important part of becoming a good artist. Drawing is the foundation for painting, and many other art mediums. This class will give the beginner student a solid foundation for art, and help more experienced students strengthen their weaknesses.

Oil Painting

Curriculum:

- Fundamentals
- Color Theory (mixing accurate colors)
- Paint Application
- Tools (palette knife, brushes, mediums)

Students will learn techniques from different masters of each painting era (Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionism, Abstraction, Modern Art. Studying the great painting masters of the past will give the student a strong foundation of art skills they will use in their original artwork.

Advanced Art/Portfolio

This custom course will offer the student the most freedom. The course is a combination of all the classes offered. Including specialty skills such as (digital painting, Digital Imaging, printmaking) if desired. The Student will have the luxury of jumping back and forth with any of the curriculum offered in this studio. (Ex. 1 ½ hrs painting, ½ hr drawing. How the class is split is up to the student)

Drop-In Class

This includes 2 hours of art instruction. Students can choose from any of the classes offered above.
